About the Book

The book is about a cricket named Hoppy who lives in a village along the countryside. He has heard stories from his grandfather about life in the big city where humans live and decides to go there following a road he has never seen. Once there, he meets up with another cricket named Tappy and together they try and survive among the people and hazards of living in a city being so small. Finally they have had enough and eventually make their way back to the countryside.

This story is a lesson for children on how good it is to live at home and not running away. It teaches them the hardships other people have living in a tough environment with no support from anyone.

The book has wonderful illustrations throughout with an eye-opening story.

I’m sure you and your kids will enjoy this very much and I hope to have my next book out soon.

About the Author

I was born in Hungary during the war and immigrated to Canada in 1958 where I married, had three children and lived in Victoria British Columbia. For the past twenty years I have worked as a nurse for a home care company taking care of senior citizens. Now in retirement, writing children’s books is my new love. With the advancement of technology, it is easy to do the type of work I have always imagined.

All my life I have painted and sold many oil paintings. During my younger years I wrote children’s stories but never managed to do an entire fully illustrated book until now.

This is my first book and I currently have another one on the drawing board.

I plan on spending a lot of my time writing and illustrating new books as I am being inspired by the love of children and especially my grandchildren Tony and Marco.
