Little do we know what’s in up in space,
But down here it’s the human race.
Some times life is hard to bear,
But we can make it with love and care.
For what is done, is done,
What has happened, has happened,
and this year shall be better than the last,
For the best is yet to come.

She still answers the phone.
As I place flowers on her fence.
She seemed to still be home and for a moment,
I wondered just where she had went.
The air conditioner was on.
The cats were all about.
The top was off the hot tub.
And I felt that she had just stepped out.
As I walked through the gate, a feeling came over me.
As I went to take the first step, I watched her door to see.
If she would come on out, with a smile on her face,
just happy to see me.
But then I heard her say.
" I’m so sorry girl friend, but I don’t live here anymore.
Was it August 8th or 9th?
It’s hard to say which day,
because it was in the middle of the night.
When I left to get help, because of the awful pain.
So across the lake I drove.
The seat belt hurt, so deep down inside.
That’s when I took it off,
I knew this wasn’t going to be a long ride.
In truth my spirit left my body,
over the waters of Tawakoni.
My car went to the left.
My body went to the right,
and my heart stayed with Jesus.
I want you to tell them all, what I have to say.
"You know how nice it is to be needed,
and the good Lord was needing me,
and he needed me right away.
So when y’all are thinking about me,
around that campfire light.
Look up to the heavens and you’ll see,
I’m dancing and twinkling with delight."

About the Book
We all wonder about the time that has passed by, the people we have met, and the love that we have shared. Reflections of the good, the bad and how we survived the sad times are the molecules that tell of one spirit. This book will delight you with poems of this nature, as well as short stories. Though some of the short stories are of delight, such as "Grandfather" and "The Little Girl," others will leave you with notorious insight into ones soul, as in Viet-be and I just couldn’t see. As you glance into the minds eye of others, you will walk down a path that has been crossed with the many remembrances of your own. Like the current events of our time "Together We Stand and Sing Their Song," this helped to raise the much needed funds for the victims and their families of the Oklahoma City Bombing, but lets not forget "Abraham’s Tears," which proceeded the events of September 11 th. Her most memorable award comes from the National Library of Poetry, Best Poems of 1996 for the Library of Congress. When Bonnie Daun wrote "We have never walked alone." Something we all should remember.
About the Author
If
there were anyone to date in my life that fits the ideals of Florence Littauer in Silver
Boxes, Bonnie would be that person. Her physical challenges take second
place to the care and encouragement she radiates to the people she meets along the
way. I am in awe of her abilities to make others feel great about themselves.
