Straight From The Throne

Starship

"Excellent word," I said extending my hand
to our invited guest, in the pulpit where he stands.

He never acknowledging me,
nor even taking my hand.

Suddenly his eyes rolled upward and
his nose upward, too.

I wondered had he been offended?
Would you not have too?

Swiftly he turned and out of the door
went he.
Walking stiffly, brushing past
you and me.

While not far behind shocking words
I heard him say,
"The nerve of some people,"
I'm the superstar today!

Faces

"Which one shall I put on this day?"
she asked herself
as she looked at the display.

"Wore that already
and no, I will not repeat."

For if I do they will notice
and it is privacy which I seek.

"This looks a little used,"
she said in disgust.

"Surely I can't wear this one,"
It has a crack in its smile.

"Well, I may have to wear the one
which was given unto me,
though I'm not pleased."

"I hope no one will notice
that it is really me."

Bending Knees

Positioning can be very important
while doing certain tasks.

Like being punished by your mom,
having not committed to
whatever it was she had asked.

Sometimes while having fun
it is the way to be;
as in playing with marbles
under a tree.

In prayer,
standing can become a habit,
especially when in a rush.

But there are times in prayer,
when bending thy knees
is a must . 18
