About the Book

Jeanie grew up in rural Florida, enduring first hand the childhood poverty and hopelessness that accompanies the heartache and pain of abuse. Following closely in the footsteps of her mother, Hazel, she found solace in the gardens of her grandmother, Alpha and the healing presence of God.

This book tells of a journey that begins with Hazel, the mother that held her family together in spite of overwhelming obstacles. She was forced to prostitute herself to her own abuser in order to feed her five hungry children. Her daughter, Jeanie, grew up experiencing a mirror image life of her mother until a miracle happens that changes her life forever.

She is a remarkable woman and her victory in overcoming the mental, physical and spiritual damage that occurs in a child that is victimized from birth until adulthood will captivate your heart. Jeanie found the courage to break the generational curses that have plagued her ancestors and gave the promise of a new life to her daughter, Katy.

This book is an inspiration to all who have suffered at the hands of others. It delivers the message of hope to the hopeless and love to the unloved. It will guide your heart and soul as you begin the journey that started in 1929 and transgresses through three generations of women.

About the Author

Jeanie Teel Prosch lives in Jacksonville, Florida with her husband, David, their daughter Katy and Pepper the Dalmatian. This is her first published book and is based on her personal life experiences.

Jeanie has been writing for 41 years. Her first piece of literature was produced at the age of six. She wrote a story about a bride. Her first grade teacher was so amazed at the detailed descriptions within the story, she asked Jeanie’s mother, Hazel, what wedding Jeanie had been to. Hazel knew Jeanie had never been to a wedding so she asked Jeanie, “where did you see a bride?” Jeanie pointed to the end of her bed to the bride doll she had been given for Christmas. “There she is and her name is Betsy.”

It is her dream not only to achieve status as a published author, but that her books will enrich other lives as well.

Her vision for the future is to open Haven Home for displaced children and women. Haven Home will be a small farm that will enable abused and abandoned children and women to flourish in a peaceful and nourishing environment. They will be able to grow strong physically and spiritually in spite of living in an adverse world. Proceeds from the sale of this book will help make that dream come true.

May God Bless you and keep you all the days of your life!
