The Cowkiller

The night before Dan Riley left Mobile on his trip to Cullman, Alabama, was also the night before Dixie Becker's body was discovered in her home, in Greenville, Alabama.

Tom Becker, alias Stan Walker, was driving a white Ford Taurus rental car, and he turned into the circular driveway of his old home on Pine Wood Road with his lights switched off.  It had been over seven years since he left Greenville, Alabama.  Most of that time he had spent in Central America, setting up cocaine drug-running connections, and transporting cash to the Cayman Islands through deposits into the account of Alice Glass Enterprises, via the Eddie Spencer Pool Company.

Tonight was all serious business for Tom Becker, because he had to cover his trail by eliminating witnesses and drug-related business partners.

The garage door of 1218 Pine Wood Road in Greenville, Alabama began to tilt and roll back.  Tom eased his Ford into the garage.  As soon as he entered, the door rolled back down, shutting out the dim lights and sealing the entrance. 

Tom cut the engine, opened his door, and stood in the dimly lighted garage.

Holding the garage door remote in her hand, Dixie said, "Tom, I thought we weren't ever going to see each other again after we made that commitment seven years ago.  Do you realize what a big chance we are taking?"

Dixie's voice wavered, and her hands trembled as she held the remote.  Tom knew she was scared and nervous over his impromptu homecoming.  He was sure she had not planned on this meeting, ever.

Dixie was standing at the top of the flight of stairs leading into the den, and the lights behind her shone through her thin nightgown, revealing her bare and lovely body.  At twenty-eight she was still a thing of beauty, a lovely brunette with a knockout figure.  She had enough of the right things to arouse most any man.  She did not try to conceal her shape, but rather tried to entice men by raising their hopes and desires with her shapely 38B assets.

Thoughts ran through Tom's head as he said, "Hello Dixie."  He remembered the three months that they had lived together as man and wife, seven years earlier.  Dixie was all woman and those three months were something to remember.

Tom cleared his head of those seductive thoughts and said, "How in the hell did you think I could get my half of the money unless we met again?  Are you going to invite me up?"

"Tom, you own the place; you don't need an invite.  Come on up, and we'll have a drink."
