About the Book
Earth Whispers is not just a book of poems and lines of words on paper. It is a glimpse of life, death, and love of Earth. Each page holds a secret and a riddle of the days in a year of ups and downs in one mans life. Some so deep you can drown in thought and as shallow as the truth we all know to be. Take your time to read and let your mind be free even if our bodies cant.
This book is
Of poems and thoughts of
The world around us
As seen though my
Eyes
My perception and
Points of view
And a simple mans
Philosophy of life
About the Author
John G. Heatherly II was born in Gulfport, MS. on Jan.29, 1968
One of a set of twins him and a sister fondly known as Sissy. Always recollecting memories of traipsing through the woods of Brooklyn Mississippi as a young boy. Where his mother's side of the family had deep roots. Spending most of the time hunting, fishing, and escaping into a more primitive state of mind for brief moments. Loving the very moments that past. As John's father worked construction the family had to travel the country. Working on projects big and small every thing from building nuclear power plants to pet food plants. There aint hardly a state that doesn't have their foot prints in it. During the times growing up he was schooled in many a trade from Saw Milling with his uncle Roland Davis, Gathering knowledge from his grandfather Bill Davis of horsemanship, blacksmithing, and carpentry. John's uncle Mike Davis is a different story John and Mike kind of learned from each other and grew together and enjoy the same hobbies of outdoor life like making Self Bows, building black powder guns, buck skinning and rendezvousing. As a self-taught mechanic John spends most of his time working on Model T Ford's and any thing else with wheels. That's when he is not working as an aircraft mechanic in The United States Navy and traveling to foreign lands.
Though learning the trades of a workingman came easy schoolwork was definitely not for John. He was kind of an underachiever in reading, writing and he continues struggling with the easy task of spelling. Though not short of words, or ways to express feelings of the heart, and nature, when asked if he would trade any thing he knows to learn how to spell he said "No I have a Dictionary!" John has often said he was born too late, a couple of hundred years to late. Always longing for the simpler life of long ago before we where tracked by a social security number and taxed to death, and now just to exist we half to pay. He says the Lord sent us here to live so why can't we just live on the simple and meager existence that it would take. Loving and caring for the Earth and it would provide, it always has. John also spends lots of time recollecting with the old ones. A never-ending source of knowledge of how it could be, though not easy. Life is a test that we must all take.
