Let the Dew Drops Fall

“Let The Dew Drops Fall” was purchased by the Clark County Library in Las Vegas.  The Library bought fifteen copies.  First Lady Laura Bush praised the kids achievement.  “Working together to write stories and create the artwork for your collection is quite an accomplishment!” she wrote.  Laura Culbreg Manager at Thomas Hughes Children’s Library in Chicago wrote, “Both your stories and pictures show talent and thought.  I am hopeful that we will be able to purchase “Let the Dew Drops Fall” for the central children’s library here in Chicago.  Maybe it will inspire some of the children in our city to follow your example!”  The Superintendent of Las Vegas School wrote, “ I was truly impressed by the high quality of their content and design.  You are to be commended for the time and effort it must have taken to organize and finalize these outstanding book projects.  I was particularly impressed with the book “Let the Dew Drops Fall.”  This book has received positive Media coverage and newspaper coverage.  It is truly inspirational to kids who want to write books.

The Purpose of “Let The Dew Drops Fall” is to promote and encourage young students to write and read as much as they can.  We believe that encouraging children to write will build their confidence and encourage them to improve their literacy skills.  This will also raise their interest to learn about other authors and illustrators.  If the students know that they can write and become authors and illustrators they will have a sense of accomplishment and also have future goals to look forward to.

“Let The Dew Drops Fall” is a collection of seventeen short stories and poems that total over 100 pages.  It’s written by the second grader’s in Ms. Muhammad’s 2001 class.  By utilizing Image-Making within The Writing Process, the students were able to bring their work to life.  The art work was completed by utilizing different painting procedures.  Hopefully, publishing “Let The Dew Drops Fall” will encourage them to work hard towards future goals related to writing, editing or even publishing.  We close this book with a dedication to Madison’s Children from one who started writing at the age of five.
