A battle wages today more fiercely than ever before in the history of all mankind. This is an invisible battle that desires to destroy the Christian. Every man, woman, and child that calls themselves a follower of Jesus Christ stands sighted in the cross hairs of the precision targets of a deadly and ruthless enemy. The only protective shield is the Lord our God. He is our fortress and our deliverer and there is truly none other. We live in an environment today that is bathed in false security, dangerously susceptible to deception and misdirection. We find ourselves taking comfort in the church where we have a tendency to arm ourselves with religion and tradition. Sometimes, we suit up for battle with a couple of memorized scriptures, sometimes with a t-shirt that boldly declares the name of Jesus. We put chrome plated plastic fish on the backs of our cars and get bumper stickers that say things like Jesus is Lord and then drive off into the battlefield as though we are invincible. We flex our Christian muscle by going into church and singing some praise and worship songs, digesting the message, and then going home feeling as though we have fulfilled our Christian responsibilities for the week. We go in, get fed, fellowship, and recharge our spiritual batteries. We leave with what we believe to be a replenished round of spiritual ammunition and then venture off into the battle zone. Tragically, we head into the battlefield poorly armed and dangerously deceived. Often we find out that the attacks come in much more rapid succession. They are more pronounced, more deliberate, and much more difficult to war against. Often we find that we seem to be powerless against the forces of a ruthless enemy, we fight the fight and wage the war, but tend to find ourselves struggling to achieve true victory. Unfortunately, this is a real and valid war that is being waged even as these pages are written. The positive side to all of this is that we are by no means powerless or defenseless if we truly abide in Christ Jesus. "Nay in all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us." Romans 8:37 {KJV} It is imperative that on no uncertain terms that we arrive at the realization that we are facing a spiritual crossroads today on this planet. The collective church, especially in America so deeply parallels so many churches and nations that were warned and rebuked in both the Old and New Testaments that we must beyond any doubt find the courage to stop right now and take a long hard look in the mirror. We can have all the bibles and churches and ministries and conferences we want to. We can sing loud songs of praise, we can fill the biggest auditoriums, and we can profess our faith and flaunt our prosperity, all under the motivation of displaying our passion for God. But the truth be told, without reverential fearand true holiness, no one will ever see the Lord. "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14 {NIV} I was given an insight into this need for reverence at an early age, even though I did not understand what it was all about until years later. I have asked the Lord many times if I could have something a bit softer to be my contribution to the Christian body. I have been answered numerous times with a resounding echo of the voice of the Lord; He has informed me through the Holy Spirit that this part of what He has called me to do, to tell the truth about Jesus Christ. I cannot stress enough the importance of the message contained within these covers. It is my urgent and sincere prayer that the truth will set free the bound in the body and unchain the captives of tradition and man serving church. It is my hearts desire that the church will wake up and become a force of unparalleled brilliance in the darkness of what certainly appears to be these last days, that God would become truly glorified in the body of Christ, that Jesus Christ would be exalted and that the Holy Spirit will be given the freedom to be the holy spirit of a sovereign and awesome God in the church. It is with humble adoration and a passionate heart for the King of Kings that I ask you to stand in agreement in prayer with me as you proceed into these pages. Most magnificent God, creator of the universe, almighty King of glory and judgment, we partner together in prayer and acknowledge that apart from you we can achieve nothing. Lord, please allow your sovereignty to permeate our hearts together as your message is read. Lord may your Holy Spirit come and provide revelation of heightened depth into your glory. Father, may your heart's desire for our knowledge of you fill us to full capacity. Lord through these pages may we all learn to submit at the foot of the throne. Thank you Father, you are a good and wonderful King. Amen.

About the Author
Tom McGuire currently oversees an apostolic ministry in Northern Illinois, which is founded upon raising up passionate pursuit of the throne room; the ministry includes a continuous house of prayer format, as well as teaching and personal ministry. His heart is to see the people of God be set free to minister and receive in spirit and truth for the cause of their King, Jesus Christ. Tom’s primary focus is bringing people to "that place" where the Lord is not simply a deity, but a personal counselor, lover, and friend. Tom has a burden to see the purity and passion of the Bride become stirred with Holiness and a longing to linger in the presence of God, where she can grow up as the promised Bride of Christ and exist in desperate passion for the touch of God. Tom feels that the mission of the Body of Christ in these last days is to unify with one another, not in conformity, but in commitment, to see the great harvest manifest and to see all peoples set free from the traditions and constraints of man and witness the transformation from Father-children relationships with God to Bridegroom-Bride relationships with the Lord.
