In the United States today, there are multiplied thousands of churches that identify with Christianity. Many are affiliated with mainline denominations or other less-known groups. Others refer to themselves as "independent." Reviewing the telephone Yellow Pages in any major city will give the reader a first-hand knowledge of the significant number of churches. There are different churches for various reasons, including a preference as to church organization, worship formats, type of music, and location. However, a primary reason is the diversity in doctrines and beliefs. These differences in doctrines and beliefs can result from misunderstandings, conflicting interpretations of the Holy Bible – and in some cases individual rationalization, along with an opinion as to the degree of authority of the Bible. In certain instances there are belief differences not only between the various denominations and groups, but also between churches within a denomination or group, and in other instances within a particular church. Included in this book is the result of a survey that illustrates a number of differences in beliefs by various churches. For this book certain subjects, which are addressed by the Holy Bible, were selected for discussion because of questions regarding these subjects – or the subjects are found to be viewed, in some instances and in part, differently by various individuals, groups, or denominations, which relate to some of the belief differences. Some would claim that, due to culture and other changes, the Bible has a different application today compared to biblical times when it was written. This is not true since the Bible is God’s unchanging Word. This book is written for both those that are believers in Jesus Christ and those who are not. The purpose of this book is to focus on and help with the understanding of what the Bible, God’s Word, teaches on these selected subjects.

About the Book
The book emphasizes that the Holy Bible has the same application today as it had when it was written, even though there has been a change in culture and attitudes, and continues to be God’s Unchanging Word. The book conveys that unity is necessary for Christians, as commanded by God in his Word, the Holy Bible; promotes the theme of people needing to believe in and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; and presents basic information as to what the Holy Bible says on twenty seven selected subjects, for which there may be questions or different views. The book focuses on and helps with the understanding of what the Bible teaches on each subject, referencing and quoting applicable scripture. The book was written for lay persons as well as pastors and for both Christians and non-Christians. An advantage of the book is that the explanations are brief, and the book can be used as a reference book for these particular subjects.
About the Author
The author is a graduate of the University of Houston, and a retired corporate executive. He has been a student of the Bible for most of his life. He presently has involved himself in part with not-for-profit organizations, primarily with an emergency assistance organization, helping those in need, supported by a group of churches of various denominations.
