About the Book

Christopher spans over a century of time, originating in Alsace-Lorraine in the early 1870s. Eighteen-year-old Richard Tagg is one of the many emigrants of Europe, making a mass migration to the "golden land" – America – the land of hopes, new ideas, and dreams. It is the story of three generations. Richard's American grand children became orphaned at an early age with the sudden and untimely death of their parents. These were separated a number of years, but were later reunited by an unlikely act of war, and occasioned at extreme odds. These all lived productive lives, and not without some notable achievement. Through the pages we meet a few ordinary folk of fine principle, especially the strong and gentle Papajoe. Christopher and Billy both served in the armed forces, and their life turns took them to Washington D. C., to the U. S. Senate and the War Department.
