About the Book

There is a wide range of experience for those who are considered trauma survivors, such as victims of rape, gang rape, molestation, fatality incident survivors, suicide witnesses physical abuse, combat veterans, their children, and the children of chemical abusers. Although the nature of the initial trauma varies, the issues to be processed remain constant: anger, guilt, loss, control, vulnerability, and purpose.

This book deals with these major issues related to trauma and offers processes and examples of ways to turn the role of victim into the role of a survivor.

About the Author

I have been a school counselor for twenty years, facilitating support groups and individual counseling for survivors of various traumas such as death of someone close including those who found the body, terminal illness, sex abuse, physical abuse and children of combat vets and chemical abusers. My experiences growing up in an alcoholic family and during Vietnam have helped me formula a program that deals with the issues related to trauma: anger, guilt, loss, control, vulnerability and purpose.
