Delaney proceeded to French kiss her. "Remember, I have improved, new, powerful kisses. Nowadays." "The old ones weren't all that bad." "Think so?" The kiss was getting steamy. "Hey, big guy. You don't want to give your daughters ideas they might use at playschool." Tina and Tonya weren't paying the slightest attention. Tina was now trying to get the rainbow hued rattle toy away from Tonya. Cox Delaney's kiss intensified. "Definitely new and improved." "Don't forget powerful," he gasped. "That, too." After the babies were bedded for the night, with but a minimum of fuss, the two repaired to the dining room where Cherie had fixed a late dinner for Cox, consisting of his favorite, chicken Kiev. A browned rice and baked Italian squash complimented the meal, with his favorite blue cheese dressing on a lettuce wedge. A fine Cabernet Sauvignon complimented the dinner. "You spoil me, Cherie." "Have to. It's in the manual. 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach.'" "If the vehicle is chicken Kiev, I believe that old saw might be somewhat accurate." Cherie matched him chew for chew. "More wine?" "I think not. I mustn't dull my edge. One never knows what later will bring. "I wouldn't say that. I think I know what later will bring. Very predictable." Cherie's dark eyes were dancing, framed by lovely chestnut hair. Her perfect body poised, her mellifluous voice teasing. "That's what I love about you dear. You never keep me guessing." "You like that?" "Sure. I can guess at the weather. I like my men steadfast." "Sounds boring." "No, never. Comforting. For example. In ten or twenty minutes, you are going to ask me for the keys to my BMW and drive to the store and buy some Death by Chocolate." "You mean we're out of it?" "Yep." "God, I must be transparent." "Like Windexed glass." Cherie's eyes were still dancing. Her smile was the smile of Universal Woman. Earthy. Warm. Come hither. Cox Delaney had to try three stores to get a half gallon of Death by Chocolate ice cream.
