About the Book

Enigmajik is an inspirational work, developed during meditation. As an avid reader of many subjects, I duly noted the inspiring writings of many authors. Some authors seemed to give more thought to their statements than others. I was inspired into practicing meditation by reading about the many religious leaders, in the East and West, who practiced the art.

During meditation, emotions become much more stable. Due to this stability, my emotions became easier to express. Therefore, I started writing during meditation. I began writing about the enigmas that plagued my life. Some enigmas were minor, but others caused me mental distress. Yet, due to writing, I was able to work out answers for some of these enigmas. Some of the answers I received are now stored in Enigmajik.

I define enigmajik as an answer for riddles. Life is full of riddles. These riddles can cause many problems in a person’s life. For instance, the feeling of guilt may be perceived as enigmatic. The feeling of guilt seems to come at some of the strangest moments. I was forced to ask why. After meditating on this riddle, I was reminded of old selfish deeds I had committed. The consequence of these deeds probably caused the guilty feeling. After realizing this fact, the guilty feeling began depleting. Many of my emotional problems, I solve in this manner.

Enigmajik is meant to be a source of inspiration and motivation. Without inspiration and motivation, how can any work get done? This book will motivate and inspire at the same time it illuminates. Gender terms are not used in these poems, therefore, even though it was written by a man, the thoughts stored in the poems can be applied to both genders. I believe in the mental equality of each sex type. I tried my best to express this fact in my writing.

The best time to read Enigmajik is in a calm, meditative state. If the poems are read swiftly, the meaning of each poem might escape the reader. Please take the time to think about each selection. I hope this book helps each reader as much as it continues to help me.

About the Author

I was born in Macon, Georgia, on November 17, 1974. I graduated from Southwest High School in Macon, and went on to study computer science at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. While studying at GSU, I also did individual research on various topics, including history and philosophy. African culture was especially concentrated upon, due to my African American racial status. I graduated from there in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Shortly after beginning work in the computer programming field, personal problems began to plague my life. Though financially stable, feelings of depression and anxiety began to find their way inside of me. After a traumatic car accident, I began to re-evaluate the path upon which my feet were treading. I decided that practicing meditation might be a good way to examine myself.

After a while, I began to write down thoughts that would bother me, searching for an answer to my problems. Needless to say, I began to formulate my thoughts into poetry, hoping that whoever heard them would be able to see how I handle my problems, and maybe find a clue to solving theirs. I now practice meditation on a routine basis, working out my emotional difficulties as I go along.

I am an avid reader of history, religion, and philosophy. I love to write and recite poetry. I also love listening to R&B, jazz, and hip-hop. I currently reside in Lizella, Georgia.
