The Eternal Spirit

Barbara Applebaum has a beautiful soul. She is an inspiration to her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren.

She was born in Brest-Belarus, Poland in 1906. Her father was a pious man, and she had nine brothers and sisters. They were poor, but enlightened.

She married Abraham Applebaum, a brilliant man and an optometrist, and they moved to the United States, thereby escaping the Holocaust. They lived in Brooklyn, New York, and had two children--Seymour and Libby, who are both doctors. Four of her five grandchildren are also doctors, and the fifth, Neil Sukoff, the editor of this book is a MBA, J.D. with a Diploma from the London School of Economics and a BA from Middlebury College.

The Eternal Spirit, a book of inspirational and spiritual poetry by Barbara Applebaum, is a testament to her deep faith in God. It is a compilation of her life's work writing in the English vernacular; she has also written extensively in Yiddush.
