THIS IS A STORY ABOUT LOUISIANA. IT IS ABOUT A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PEANUT. A SMALL GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPY WITH BIG DEEP SOFT BLACK EYES, A SHINY BLACK MUZZLE AND A WINNING SMILE THAT SHOWED HIS LITTLE CANINES WHEN HE GRINNED.
PEANUT WAS BORN ON MARDI GRAS DAY ON A SMALL FARM CALLED WALLACETOWN IN OLLIE, LOUISIANA. OLLIE IS A SMALL COMMUNITY BETWEEN VENICE AND NEW ORLEANS IN THE PARISH OF PLAQUEMINES. THE FARM WAS NESTLED ALONG THE BANKS OF THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
PEANUT IS THE SON OF REX AND DELORES. HIS PACK CONSISTED OF THREE BROTHERS, THREE SISTERS AND SAM HIS UNCLE. THE PUPS WERE NAMED MARDI, BEAUREGARD, HUEY, LUCILLE, DIXIE AND FIFI. SAM WAS RENOWNED FOR HIS KEEN SENSE OF SMELL AND SHARP EYES. SAM WAS A BLACK AND TAN SHEPHERD WITH MARKINGS THE COLOR OF GOLDEN HONEY.
HIS FATHER, REX, WAS THE ALPHA MALE AND LEADER OF THE ENTIRE PACK. HIS MOTHER, DELORES RAN THINGS IN AND AROUND THE KENNEL. REX WAS THE HEAD OF SECURITY ON THE BANANA FARM AND PEANUT’S UNCLE SAM WAS HIS TRUSTED ASSISTANT.
REX WAS A BIG GIANT BLACK GERMAN SHEPHERD WITH BROWN SOCKS. A NO NONSENSE ANIMAL WHO PROTECTED THE LIVES AND PROPERTY OF ALL THE PUPS, CHICKENS, DUCKS, GEESE AND HUMANS ON THE FARM. UNCLE SAM WAS A BIG BLACK AND TAN GERMAN SHEPHERD THAT WORKED SIDE BY SIDE WITH REX.
DELORES WAS THE BEST MOM THAT ANYONE COULD ASK FOR. SHE WAS TALL AND BEAUTIFUL, A BLACK AND TAN GERMAN SHEPHERD WITH EYES BROWN AS SUNSET, A LONG FLUFFY TAIL AND MAGNIFICENT PEARLY WHITE TEETH THAT LITERALLY SHINED WHEN SHE SMILED AT HER HAPPY LITTLE PACK.
MR. CHESTER AND PIERRE WERE THE PACK’S TWO HUMANS. STRANGE CREATURES THEY ONLY WALKED ON TWO FEET AND HARDLY HAD ANY FUR TO TALK ABOUT.
THEY LIVED IN A BIG DOGHOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FARM. IT WAS A STRANGE PLACE THAT PEANUT VISITED ONCE.
THE HUMANS DIDN’T SLEEP TOGETHER. ONE SLEPT IN ONE END OF THE DOGHOUSE AND ONE SLEPT IN THE OTHER END OF THE DOGHOUSE! THEY SLEPT ON BIG BOXES THAT THEY HAD TO JUMP UP ON AND THEY USED BIG SQUARE PIECES OF CLOTH TO STAY WARM INSTEAD OF NICE WARM HAY AND STRAW!

About the Book
This is a delightful story about an exciting day in Louisiana. It is seen through the eyes of Peanut, a German Shepherd puppy. Being playful and mischievous as all puppies are, Peanut and his littermates slip away from the safety of their kennel. Thus begins their adventure. They quickly learn how fun and games can become dangerous. This tale is a classic of good versus evil. The pups run into an assortment of characters good and bad that make the bayous, river, batture, marshland and swamp their home. This adorable story exemplifies courage, honor, justice, truth, mystery and just plain fun. Pleasurable reading for all ages.
About the Author
Mr. Wallace was born in Jackson, Mississippi on September 12th, 1951. Mr. Wallace was raised in Plain, Mississippi. He was graduated from Florence High School in Florence, Mississippi. Upon graduation he enlisted and spent six years in the U.S. Navy. A duty assignment brought him to "the Great State of Louisiana" in the early 1970's. Here he fell in love with the land, the people, and history of the area. He spent a short stint in Oklahoma at the state horseshoeing school. Upon graduation as a furrier Mr. Wallace returned to Louisiana. He secured a small farm in Ollie, Louisiana. While plying his trade as a furrier Mr. Wallace went to work for the Department of Defense. After raising two sons John Lamar and Kevin Pierre. Mr. Wallace began writing short stories. Fascinated with his short stories, Peanut's Big Adventure poured from his pen. Mr. Wallace still lives on the small farm in Ollie, Louisiana with his beloved wife Libby, five dogs and many other assorted happy animals. Peanut's Big Adventure sprung from the life Mr. Wallace lives every day.
