About the Author

K.G. Bell, playwright, poet, teacher, and historian, grew up in the artistic world of the Caribbean, and ever since boyhood was a part of the pageantry and artistry of Trinidad’s Carnival. His soul was inspired by the richness of the many festivals of his homeland, Trinidad.

The land of Steel pan, Calypso, Limbo, Divali, Phagwa and exotic costumes presented the stage for his poetic style and grand stories.

Carnival is history, fantasy, and drama on a grand scale from which Mr. Bell drew the inspiration to develop his characters and scenes to challenge the imaginations of his audiences and readers.

His inventive ability forces us to view the poet in a new light, as the chief agent of many of the changes in modern society. He strives to show similarities between the classical period and modern times and shows how language is a vibrant tool that affects human behavior.

As an ardent supporter of the classics, his dramatic style of poetry moves with grandeur, similar to the styles found in ancient Egypt, Greece, Babylon or Timbuktu.
