Teasingly Javier said, "I don’t know if you’ll make it to the screen, but I have another idea." "Ok, lets hear this brilliant idea of yours", said a slightly tipsy Melinda. "Why don’t I blow out some to these candles and help you undress. Then you can get under the covers while I undress", suggested Javier. Giggling at his suggestion Melinda said, "Sounds like a good idea to me, husband." Grateful to be making some progress Javier diligently set to blowing out many of the candles and left only a few lighting the room. Removing all the layers of clothing was a bigger task than he’d thought. Finally she sat before him with the sheer nightgown now in place. Slowing his breath to a normal pace he thanked even the stars above. Looking at her thus, it was hard to keep his promise not to rush her as he found himself kissing the back of her neck. Melinda wasn’t prepared for the jolt of electricity that passed through her as his lips touched her skin. Her skin felt as if it was on fire wherever his mouth touched her. Turning her in his arms he looked into her desire laden eyes and nearly lost control. Fusing his mouth to hers he kissed her passionately until she was quivering with need in his arms. He crushed her to him as he deepened the kiss. Lifting her in his arms once again, he walked to the bed and placed her gently upon the mattress. Breathing raggedly he broke the kiss and said, "Tonight Melinda I will make you my wife in every sense of the word." Melinda, who was still caught up in the myriad of feelings he’d created with his kissing, barely noticed that he was undressing right before her eyes.

Melissa A. Ross, a Licensed Minister, has been writing for over ten years. While she’s written many things to include a Monthly Marriage Corner piece, published in the True Spiritual-Grapevine. This is her first attempt at a Historical Romance. Her favorite genre to read is Romance novels. She reads everything from Western, to Modern, and even Paranormal Romances. After years of friends and family telling her just how good her work was, the author decided to work towards publishing her first book. Love is Forever, the first of a trilogy, was a joy to write.
