About the Author
Howard has had a variety of experiences. Some of which are unique, some fairly commonplace. Raised in Durham, North Carolina attending Northern High School and North Carolina State University, in Raleigh. His formal education centered on anything but literature and the 'arts.' Howard has taught high school, worked in engineering and management and owned his own business. He currently works in Information Technology and lives with his wife (Janet) in central Florida. Their five children are grown and living their own lives in North Carolina and California. Howard and Janet are the proud grandparents of two. As clearly seen in his work, Howard has spent extensive time sailing in the Atlantic Ocean, which he enjoys most of all other than being with his family. Other experiences include flying, amateur radio, home repair, volunteer paramedic.
His poetry literally comes from life experiences. He never sits down and says, I am going to write a poem. They come to him, inspired by events and how he has seen his family and world.
Howard is currently working on a historical novel set in World War I and Manfred von Richthoven (a.k.a The Red Baron.)
