A prophetic ministry can be very difficult. It’s tough because you don't choose it; it chooses you, or rather, God does. There is nowhere to go to learn about it except to the Bible. Yes, there are books written and other experiences from which to draw, but by and large, there is only a massive dependency on God for the answers. I enjoy this ministry and love God with all my heart. But I know that at times, it’s very difficult to do what He asks and much prayer is required. Being a Prophet is a difficult and stressful ministry although many times a blessed ministry. These times are dependent on what God gives me to share with others. Even in the hard times, I am in awe of the fact that I was chosen. Other times it is the sweetest thing under heaven. Especially the times when I have absolutely no idea of what I am talking about, God knows what is going on because I can see the recognition of the truth dawning in the eyes of those to whom I am ministering.
God always knows what He is doing even if I do not. Word of Knowledge is a spiritual gift and God’s way of getting your attention. He usually tells you something that only you and He know about. Most of the time, you think only you know about your life. When the Holy Spirit uses me to tell you about something hidden in your life, it usually shocks you. It brings home the realization that God really does know everything about you. He is really God, and He really does know each of us.
On one occasion, God had me use spiritual gifts of word of knowledge and word of wisdom, on someone who did not speak my language. By the use of an interpreter, I told an elderly Spanish lady, who was visiting from Puerto Rico, that her greatest fear was just how she was going to die. I then proceeded to tell her that when it was her time to die, she would not have any pain. She would simply be speaking to someone, and in the middle of the sentence she would go home to be with the Lord. That she would begin the sentence on this earth and finish it in front of Jesus. I saw the shock on her face when she realized that someone who did not know her, someone who couldn't speak her language, had just given her an answer to a prayer. A prayer that she had prayed to Jesus only two days before in a different language and in a different country. The Lord uses me many times to answer questions that are on someone’s heart before they even get a chance to ask them.
On the other hand, God just blesses a person by having me tell them something that will change their life forever. Recently I was speaking to Lou, an individual I know that works in New York City. As I was speaking with him, I told him to go see his mother and forgive her to tell her that he loves her, and in his heart to tell her goodbye.
At first, he had a problem with the suggestion because he had been very upset with her ever since he was a child. After listening to part of his story, the Lord enabled me to finish pieces of it for him. I also told him she was sick and he realized that I could not have known that. He finally relented, and agreed to do what the Lord directed him to do. He did as the Lord suggested, and after speaking with her and telling her that he loved her, some days later she passed away.
No matter who you are in Christ, there is just no substitute for the love of God or the pleasure one can receive from serving Him in the ministry that He has chosen for them. I am totally committed to God and His ways and have spent the last 20-plus years in learning, teaching and prophesying His Word. In teaching others about the things that God shares with me, I have discovered that He has shaped me in some very unique ways. At the same time, the Holy Spirit has driven many of God’s laws into me in ways that I can never forget.
My prayer is that you will be blessed in the reading of this book and that you will learn to experience and enjoy some wonderful aspects of Jesus that I have learned. I ask God to open your mind and to let His anointing rest upon you as you read the words of this book and perhaps you will grow in a new and marvelous way. God bless you!
