When Shelby came to again, she was blindfolded and gagged, but not hog-tied. She realized in a panic that her wrists were tied and stretch over her head and tied to something. Her feet were done in the same fashion. She still had a gag over her mouth. There was no explanation, except some crazed psychopath, who tortured for pleasure abducted her. Shelby knew she would be killed.

All of a sudden, she felt someone kiss her cheeks and caress her face. He then put his hands on her breasts. She realized he had stripped her clothes off while she was unconscious. Her abductor was straddling her. Shelby was paralyzed by fear! She silently prayed to God to help her and give her strength.

A very familiar voice said, "Sweetheart, I told you before that I would eventually have you. You are mine now. Before too many days pass, you will be begging for me. I’ll take my pleasure slowly. If you resist or scream, it will be your fault for the consequences you’ll face. I will hurt you, sweetheart, if necessary. Wait and see, you’ll be begging before your nightmare ends. Oh, that’s right you can’t see, can you." Larsen Smith removed her blindfold.

He was naked, leaning over her enjoying her fear. He did not remove her gag. She was determined not to give him pleasure by screaming. "Sorry my sweet, but the gag stays on right now. If you’re a good girl, I might take it off later."

Larsen proceeded to caress and kiss her all over. He had his way with her for what seemed like hours to Shelby, but he didn’t rape her. Shelby's face was wet with tears. When Larsen was through having pleasure with her body and taunting her, he threw a sheet over her. "I’ll be back for more later. I might even make you a little more comfortable if you continue to behave. Maybe we’ll even take a shower together." Larsen left the dark room laughing.

Shelby looked around the room. She thought he must have her in some sort of dark basement because it was so damp. The only light was a faint beam of light coming from the cracked bathroom door. I’ve got to use my head and stay calm if I want to survive this nightmare. Why me? He is obviously a mentally disturbed psychopath, but she still had the feeling that he picked her for a reason. Right now, she knew without a doubt, she was a sex toy for him. If or when he finally consummated sexual intercourse with her, she had no doubt he would kill her. Shelby would have to draw on all the strength God could give her to survive this situation. She cried when she thought how scared Allan and George must be right now.

Detective Jarod Lowe went over the report from the sweep of Shelby’s car. They lifted a few fingerprints. The only one that was a match on the criminal database was Larsen Smith. He also noticed the last records request this Larsen Smith’s file was from the Gull Haven Police Department. He printed himself a copy and sat down and read the entire file. Larsen Smith fit the profile for an abductor and sex offender. Apparently, he had two possible sexual assault charges dropped before they went to trial. This was fairly recent, after he had served his probation from his juvenile sentencing. This type offender was like a time bomb waiting to go off, thought Jarod. Scum! Tomorrow morning, he would run down the detectives who worked the dropped assault charges. His bet was that the victims were too afraid to testify and probably had been threatened by Larsen.

Jarod dialed the number for the Gull Haven Police Department. "This is Detective Lowe from the Jacksonville Sex Crime Department. Is your police chief available? I need to speak to him ASAP. This is an urgent matter involving one of your local residents, Shelby Francis. She was apparently abducted from a mall parking lot, possibly by a Larsen Smith."
