Far Better I can not tell As Magic Plays Hear the magic played, Each motion a passionate part As the harpsichord plays, As the music now repeats,
Where you have been,
Nor why you stayed so long.
But, then again
I am not blind
To what I feel within...
Beneath my fingertips,
Your love and tenderness cries out
From deep behind some worn,
And shattered wall of stone.
I cannot tell
Where you have been,
Nor why you stayed so long.
But, hear me now
Above the crashing waves
Of solitude that batter you,
That I am here to share with you
A warm and caring smile.
That I am here to be with you,
Because your love and tenderness
Should be allowed to venture out,
To be shared and nurtured now...
I cannot tell
Where you have been,
But, I know where you go now
Will be far better, and happier...
The embracing crescendo,
As violins accompany
The pulsing hearts within.
Of a concerto being played,
The shudders now become
A part of the harmony.
With pianos being softly played
While organs, and violas synchronize,
There’s a constant sensual swelling.
And starts anew within.
A vibrant need to give...
Is taken now, and returned,
As the magic plays away...

About the Book
"Sensual and Sensitive - I’m From Earth, Not Mars" is a compilation of works that were written after, or during, having had the senses stimulated ... in particular the greatest ... Love. How? By a touch, words spoken or not, anticipation, sights seen under the stars, while taking long rides in deep thought, upon the sea, and sometimes even sipping a cocktail while observing others. Yes, even as harmonious melodies of gently strummed strings with lightly touched piano keys being played, as in "As Magic Plays" and others ... the pen did its dance upon the sheets, as an intoxicating memory of a faint perfume brought back images locked away for emotional protection. For after finally loving, one learns the true meaning of giving unconditionally, and if need be... the burying of its painful loss so as to continue living. There are those as Homer, Lord Byron, and Shakespeare that expressed themselves in a style of their time that left little doubts for misinterpretation. I do but try to do the same.
About the Author
A 2001-2002 distinguished member, and recipient of the International Merit Award by the International Society of Poets. He has also taught college-level courses in Writing Poetry, Comparative Religion, and General Chemistry. Originally from California, and raised in the Navy. He lived several years in the Caribbean attending college, and working for a sub-contractor with the Dept. Defense. Also a Navy Vietnam Era veteran (Hospital Corpsmen), and presently Commander of Bourne-Keeney American Legion - Post 23 in Wethersfield, Connecticut.... which is now also home. Aside from teaching high school chemistry, writing curriculums, being on school accreditation teams... there are his two daughters. He is no stranger to single-parenting, having done so with his oldest when she was younger. Presently divorced, he spends much time with both. Some friends have mentioned spoiling them a bit... but that’s a Dad’s prerogative. After all, Santa still exists. The fun things of course are cooking, movies, beach, travel, etc. There is much more than this about the author, but that in itself would make a good book....
