About the Book
With this in mind, Mrs. Bruni's patriotic stanzas to America, lauding her adopted country, are so much more poignant. The simplicity of her work, sans any artifice, provides a sorely needed respite from the demands of this hectic world for the reader . . . an opportunity to savor, reflect, to shed a tear, and most especially, to smile. Simply said a treasure." Rebecca Egly "Simply beautiful and beautifully simple." Dr. Kenneth Maier "Hildegard Bonacker Bruni's words come from the depth of her inner most being and will touch every heart and soul." Helga Kielnecker
"The poetry of Hildegard Bonacker Bruni accomplishes with deceptive ease the passage of the reader into her world of heartfelt emotion, breathtaking nature, and sincere devotion to our Creator. In addition, she unselfishly shares painful memories in recollection of a childhood spent in a war-torn Germany; a disturbing, graphic view of the consequences of war from the eyes of the innocent women and children who had to leave their home and escape, get caught in the battlefield and the ones left on the home front.
