About the Author
The author has "formulated" cost engineering as an advanced form of construction estimating. He is a graduate civil engineer with forty years of construction experience. He has taught, written about and practiced the art of cost engineering for the past thirty years. He has published numerous articles on the topic and has provided industry application formats for the American Army Corp of Engineers and more recently, Pradausa on its construction program in the U.S.A. He has formed The Society for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (SACE) with a basic nucleus of twenty qualified members who will act as teachers, practitioners and preachers. The introduction to this publication is being written by the author's son, also a graduate engineer, who found this topic "very educational" in his current position as director of construction for the Botanical Gardens, New York.
