About the Book
By the Year of the Turkey, the remaining denizens of our planet had become identifiable. The accelerated evolution of these beings has slowed to an almost normal pace and many new life forms, heretofore unknown, populated the earth. Only a few decades earlier, man’s tinkering with the origins of life had finally precipitated a biological holocaust, an awesome, living upheaval. This bio-technical disaster become known as The Great Genetic Meltdown.
About the Author
Walter Alton Jones, while seeking the Lost City of Gold on the Internet, was suddenly transported during an electrical storm far into the future, to a time known as the Year of the Turkey. That particular year followed an event called The Great Genetic Meltdown, during which all of Earth’s beings, as we know them, were changed forever. The random mixing of Earth’s life forms resulted in new and different creatures. The new citizens that emerged had many of the faults and virtues of the old ones, but lower animals had human attributes, and some humans began to resemble and behave as lower animals. Plants were also mixed with the animal kingdom. One might say that, at last, true diversity was achieved. The author is not a scientific person, but he loves lyrics. He, therefore, seized the opportunity to record his observations during the Year of the Turkey in verse, before he re-appeared in the present. Fortunately, his literary background (He has read and was influenced by the books of Dr. Laura, G. Gordon Liddy and Shel Silverstein.) was of great benefit to him in this effort. Earthlife After the Great Genetic Meltdown was completed shortly after Jones returned to his Decatur, Georgia, law office, where today he represents clients with slip and fall injuries and fondles his words.
