A very small person was sitting there next to the rock. He was making that strange sound. I stood there staring at it. It turned around and looked straight at me. Then it spoke. "Why here you are?" A small squeaky voice asked. "What?" I asked. "What was that you said? And, who are you? What are you?" I was shocked to see this little person or thing or man or whatever it was, right here in front of me. Not ten feet away. I took a closer look at it. It looked like a little boy. He had a small spear in one hand and a strange looking rope thing wrapped around the other. He had short arms, very short legs and on top of his head short curly hair. He also had a tiny nose and two beady eyes. His skin was a darkish color, he looked like he had a terrific suntan. He sure was a strange looking sight. That was when I thought, he must think that I am a strange sight, too. I asked again. " Who are you?" " I Bobob am," he said in that tiny little voice. " You talk funny," I said to him. " I funny talk do not," he replied. " Oh, okay" I said. " Then, where am I?" " You in Afreeka are," he said. I could tell that this was going to be an interesting but difficult conversation. What your name is?" he asked. " My name is Chuck," I replied. " Where come you did from?" he asked. I told Bobob how I had come from America to Africa and how I had traveled through the jungle to the grassland. Then, I continued to tell him how I took pictures of the animals and of how I had fallen down the hill, banged my head and now I was here. All of the time that I was speaking, he just stood there listening to every word that I said. It was almost as if he was listening to some kind of fairytale. I was sure that he didn’t understand anything that I was trying to tell him. That was when I realized that whenever he spoke, his words would be all jumbled up. Wait a minute! No, it can’t be. Or, could it be? Could this be, no I am sure that it can’t be, the place that the native talked about the night of the feast. The Land of Jumble.

About the Book
A photographer travels from America to Africa looking forward to a picture taking safari. However, the photographer mistakenly enters into a world, where everything is upside down, backwards and all jumbled up. In this place, the animals can speak and a little person, (maybe a man, maybe a boy, maybe neither) holds the key to everything that happens in this crazy land. Now, you can enter into this Land of Jumble and be part of the mystery that exists there. You may even be able to solve one of the great mysteries that the photographer, Chuck, couldn’t solve. A mystery that still exists, even to this day. Chuck, the photographer, mistakenly escaped from this land and returned to his home in New England. He has experienced an adventure filled with excitement, danger, laughter and mystery. I am enclosing a brief sample of the text that can be found in chapter five. I asked again. "Who are you?" About the Author
I am a 50 year old child who’s greatest enjoyment in life is making children and grown up children laugh. I live in a small town in Northern Rhode Island, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. The quiet that surrounds me allows me to reflect back to the time when I was a young boy growing up in the country. A time when I would run and jump and climb through the woods and investigate each and every rock and fallen tree. Every stream and pond held a different adventure for me and because I had an incredibly patient and loving mom, I was on occasion allowed to bring home one of the treasures I had discovered. These are the fond memories that I incorporate in each of my stories. I have always enjoyed telling stories to children and have recently decided to put some of these stories on paper. My family and friends first reaction to my early attempts were, KEEP PRACTICING! So, I did. I now have three stories, which have passed the family and friends test. I am enclosing one of these stories, which I hope will capture your interest.
