About the Book

The Pleasure of Art and Baking represents the European and American influences of food, art, and culture I have had throughout my life.  The book is the first of a series of artistic ideas that bridge the gap between culinary art and the art of painting and writing.

This book represents a series of popular recipes I have used throughout the years both in my restaurant baking and my franchises, “Mina’s House of Brownies.”  The oil paintings are for your appreciation and enjoyment and a notepad has been added to experiment and perfect the recipes within your own realm of expertise.

Special recognition goes to N.A. Massih and Marsha Massih for their beautiful still life oil paintings illustrated within the book.  Their true love of art gives The Pleasure of Art and Baking life and passion, as my true love of baking gives you a culinary canvas to express your taste and art through food.

Bake with me at home or in your own business and look for my next series of artistic ideas through 1st Books Library and “Mina’s House of Brownies”.

About the Author

Born in Geneva, Switzerland, my family enriched my life with European and American influences in art, food, and culture.  In writing The Pleasure of Art and Baking, I wanted to share the most popular recipes I have used in restaurant baking throughout the United States.  I have accented the recipes by representing still life paintings, both in oil and water color, by artists N.A. Massih and Marsha Massih.  My future contributions in baking will be represented through other publications and Mina’s House of Brownies franchises.  All the recipes compiled in the book emphasize taste, not appearance and the experience is both delicious and cultural!
