Season Monday changed to Friday. Leaves waltz and twirl I wonder if your love Rain pummels my windowpane, drenches the foliage and landscape décor. Falls down on me like the Holy Spirit saturated my soul Challenged me never to be the same after Feel like I'm walking on air
Summer to fall.
All day, I wait
for your call.
outside my window
Flaunting coats of gold,
sienna and crimson.
Has changed
like the season.
Rain on Me
Drip, drop, dripping on walkers, joggers, and tourists
Meandering down St. Charles Street.
at the Superdome as my thirst
was quenched for love, direction and protection.
Challenged me to be thinking,
challenged me to be delivered from
manipulation
and tribulation.
Running to the water to be baptized,
Not to care if I'm criticized for seeking Him.
or the wings of a prayer
Can hardly hold my peace
because my cup is yet overflowing.

Marie Chewe-Elliott is a former journalist and currently public relations professional. An aspiring poet, she attends graduate school at Webster University in St. Louis and is a member of Public Relations Society of America. Marie resides in Florissant, Missouri with husband, Michael and daughter, Mikale. About the cover art: Rhonda Armstrong Gibson resides in Tupelo, Mississippi. She lends her dynamic talents to various civic and community organizations in the area and is an art teacher. Rhonda is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
