About the Book

Humpty is a book designed to lift the hearts of those weary and exhausted from their own lives: caregivers, people battling cancer, chronic disease, those who have fallen off the wall and lost their hope and rhythm of life.

Humpty holistically addresses the spirit, mind, and body in a simple, practical way using easy to read personal stories from the authors life--

Spirit–Portraying God as the Great Psychiatrist who will walk along beside you guiding and providing comfort, Humpty provides simple Biblical principals to begin a new life. For example, You cannot be thankful and depressed at the same time. Chapters help you discover who God created you to be through a personality profile based on flowers. Ch. 3 tells you how to plug into the power of God and offers a spiritual prescription to take daily as you begin your journey.

Mind–Readers become thought detectives to discover what thoughts are parading through their mind-- The author explains how to stop wallowing in negative thoughts and "put a girdle on your mind." Another chapter helps you create a quiet time in which you "fill your mind with everything that’s beautiful."

Body–Humpty looks at depression caused by physical illness and examines the role doctors, psychiatrists and medicine play. Antidepressants, and herbal serotonin boosters are reviewed. A final chapter discusses an often overlooked and for some a missing puzzle piece–nutrition. Various popular diets are compared. Sylvia also shows how adding exercise, laughter, and creativity can change the brain chemistry in depression.
