Officer Moran: "Now as I see it you got one of two choices; I can write you up a citation and you can go up before Judge Stone .... , or you can just post fifty dollars cash bail here with good old Rex ..." Terry to C. J.: "Kinda funny isn't it, we can mix parts from all kinds of cars and get a good one .... but when it comes to people we just throw all the good parts away with the bad. That's a terrible waste." Banker Towne: "Fuller is just limping along one step ahead of FHA, I've got a contact there ready to shut him down whenever I say the word ...." "Then there's Rapario. He'll never figure out what happened to him." Senator Packrat: What a graft! And all completely legal. He just had to find some means to get into a deal like that. "At two cents a bushel, the dirt adding business is only worth seventy cents a ton. This difference is thirty dollars per ton! Getting into the grain business could sure beat robbing a bank." Packrat was benefiting from the adage "truth is what people perceive, it may have nothing to do with facts." Ima visited occasionally with Stravinsky and Hughes but most often discussed strategies with Alexander Hamilton. Packrat had a high regard for the Revolutionary War figure and frequently confided to him. Benny: "Mr. Towne ..... I lost money because you already took five dollars. You took fifteen dollars and paid me less than twelve." Towne: "Who said anything about fair; this is business. You didn't lose any money. You got back nearly as much as you put in and if it hadn't been here you would have spent more of it." Benny: "There are so many bad guys out there taking advantage of the honest, hard working people, why not take it back from them?" Towne: "That's a tough, mean world out there. Only the fit will survive. You weren't one of them." Mrs. Lambert: "Do you mean," she whispered breathlessly, "that this operation you suggest could make me look like that." News crew: "That's right folks. In only three weeks the sheriff has wrecked six county vehicles." Towne: "I don't know why I take the money. My hand just does it. I can't seem to stop it."

About the Book
Benny Rapario is the teen-age son of a poor farm couple. Highly intelligent, he quickly identifies citizens who hold positions of trust but use those positions to further their devious schemes. The sordid group includes the infamous senator, Ima Packrat. He and his parents are victimized and Benny plans revenge. Upset by the government's huge tax burden and wasteful behavior, he plans his life to avoid taxes. Two other teen-age boys become accomplished doctors and succeed in developing a marvelous new medical technique to assist those with physical problems. The paths of these three boys cross in a bizarre event and Benny exacts his retribution.
About the Author
Darrell O. Turner was born in Washington State. He served with the 36th Combat Engineer Regiment during World War II. The unit fought in H-hour invasions of North Africa, Sicily, Salarno, Anzio and France and served as combat engineers with the U.S. 3rd, 5th, and 7th armies. Educated at Georgetown University, University of Washington and Washington State University, he served thirty-two years as a soil scientist on the faculty of WSU. After retirement from WSU he was elected to six terms as President of the Washington State Farm Bureau and for twelve years was a board member of a major insurance company. At present he heads a family farm partnership operating a thousand acres in northwest Washington and is President of Cascade Seniors - the local senior’s organization.
