This book is about life. It is about good life and bad life. It is also about choices. It is about good choices and bad choices. In our selfishness, we sometimes both hurt and even destroy those we love the most. Poverty does not always mean bad, and wealth does not always mean good. By the time Wyatt is old enough to make choices, he has experienced so many bad things that he only knows sin and pain. Wyatt is a product of his home environment and of other people around him. Each of them wanted to use Wyatt to satisfy their own selfish desires, without ever thinking of the cost to Wyatt and to society through Wyatt. His life is one of extreme sorrow, hardship, and heartache. This is a novel. It is not intended to be a religious book, but Wyatt's lack of God in his life and issues related to God and a spiritual life are addressed. There are many promises made by God and many blessings to be experienced in being with and around Christian people and the church. These are also imperfect people, but they are trying to do their best to follow God and to encourage one another. Robbed of this hope, Wyatt was alone and felt his loneliness. Alienation, or the overpowering feeling of being alone, can be destructive. With nothing and no one to hang on to, Wyatt gave up. His hopelessness was complete. He received some help from God. There seems little doubt that God does provide us opportunities to know the truth, although usually in less dramatic ways than He did with Wyatt. Most people refuse to hear these messages just as Wyatt almost did. Wyatt's conversion gives us the hope that anyone can change. When things go wrong in our lives (and they do), we can let these crises destroy us or we can rise above it and look to God for strength. There are many Wyatts in this world. They need hope. They need faith. They need God in their lives. It is hoped the message of this book will be an encouragement. It is never too late to change and commit our lives to God and to doing well, to dedicate or rededicate our lives to Him.

About the Book
This book is a novel. It is a work of fiction and is not intended to represent a real person. However, this book combines fiction, realities of life and the Bible to present the dramatic story of Wyatt Spencer, a very selfish and dangerous man whose life went from bad to worse to even worse. This book does provide a spiritual message. Wyatt’s life and his decisions are very depressing and discouraging. Even when he is innocent he still goes to prison. But just when it looks totally hopeless, with some dramatic and unexpected events, awareness begins to dawn on the selfish and self-centered Wyatt. Although very slowly, Wyatt finally begins to see that there is more to life than just himself. The road upward is a long, difficult, and sometimes frustrating journey, but it will hold the reader’s interest to see this struggle and its outcome.
About the Author
Frank is also the author of Who Is This One Called Christ? (currently out of print), as well as Take Courage, America, The Light, In The Name of God, Newspaper, Psychology and the Human Spirit, and The Enemy Within (all current books with 1stbooks). He is a former minister, law enforcement officer, and newspaperman. He has six college degrees, and he is currently a family therapist. He lives with his wife in San Antonio, Texas.
