About the Book
Before there were frequent flyer miles, there was this. A rather haphazard, make-it-up-as-you-go aviation industry. Flight was a dangerous, exciting adventure that developed at a faster pace than could ever have been expected. Because the exploits of B. E. "Shorty" Fulton were extensively chronicled by the press for over fifty years (1925-1980) he serves as a microcosm of those years when he was probably in the right place at the right time, in parts of the country, he became a legend. "Shorty" had many eccentricities, both lovable and irritating. I hope I have brought that man and his times into focus yet leave his heritage secure.
