About the Book
Walter G. Perz’s Anon is a piece of literary work that in its concept and style is an ODE of love. In modified, unconventional letter form it is the story of a man and woman meeting for a summer lost. Traditional backgrounds as well a geographic separation create discord and problems. And yet many moments of truth, the realization of true feelings and the total disregard of past traditions or present rules project the real and true meaning of their relationship. Most of all, the concept to be true to yourself and absorb and share the feelings of the being you are with is the true essence of the story.
About the Author
Walter G. Perz was born in Vienna, where he studied the theatrical and fine arts. After the war the upheavals of the war led him away from his country and he came to Canada in search of freedom. In the isolation of the Arctic and almost complete subjugation to nature, he formed his approach to the meaning of life and art. When he came to Toronto he was able to devote himself more to art and literature. All these involvements brought together metaphysical and lyrical elements; while others probed into the meaning of it all. He sought to strengthen the relationship between now and then, and the freedom of ideas, to create new criteria from which new relationships might emerge. Starting with a theme, or hope, he establishes a point of reference with the individual, appealing to the imagination to provoke freedom for all.
