About the Book

In the military, soldiers are subjected to daily harangues from superior officers about their mission, their duty, and their willingness to die for a cause. But Eric Martel, a soldier in the CIA’s war on terrorism, believes that it’s more important to have a willingness to kill for a cause. With meticulous planning, incredible attention to detail, and armed with the unshakable rationale that he is doing the right thing, he assassinates those who, to make a political point, have murdered innocent people.

It seems like a valid position, yet unlike the soldiers returning from a victorious military campaign, there will never be a brass band at the airport when he arrives home, or any medals presented by the President in front of a clamoring news media. And while these slights do not bother him, there is one thing that does: Amy Jordan, the woman he loves, will never think of him as a hero either. She’ll think he’s a murderer.
