About the Book

Life was not easy for Charles Lee and his family in Clarksdale. His father was a functional alcoholic and he did not hesitate to punish his children with physical and emotional abuse to maintain obedience in his family.

In Silent Cry, the author brings to life and vividly displays his experiences of dealing with alcoholism, domestic violence, homelessness, poverty, and physical and emotional abuse which he and his siblings endured as children in his family.

Furthermore, having to deal with the deaths of some of his brothers, an uncle, and the relationship with his ex-wife can best be described as a life straight from hell! He even had to deal with horrible nightmares regarding killing his father as a means of escape. This is a mere example of the rich and unforgettable drama that awaits the readers of Mr. Charles Lee’s first novel. The author states, "I wrote this novel of my life because I want people all over the world to read and share my life experiences with me. These experiences run deep with no frills. They are honest, moving, tearful, homely and entertaining, in a warm and simple sense."
