One day while Grandma Smitty was watering her flower garden she heard a soft ‘meow’. She turned around and there under a bush she saw what looked like a ‘big ball of cotton’. Grandma Smitty went over to see what it was and there curled up was a little with kitty. She picked up the tiny shaking kitten and put it in a shoebox on top of a white ‘T’ shirt belonging to Granpa Smitty. Then, she warmed up a small bowl of milk and the little kitty drank it all up and afterwards, took a long nap. Everyday, the little kitty drank her milk, and everyday, the little white kitty grew bigger and bigger. One day, Grandma Smitty had the little kitty on the grass when a little girl, walking with her mother, pointed her finger and said, "Kiki." She was probably trying to say, "Kitty", but from that day on, the little kitten’s name was, Kiki.

I was born in Honolulu Hawaii, and as long as I can remember, I have always had cats and dogs. After Pearl Harbor, I was sent to live on a farm in Michigan, went to school there, returned to Hawaii for a short time, moved to California and have lived there ever since. I am married to a police captain and have four children, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I have worked as a western singer and had my own beauty salons. I am retired now have been married for fifty years (to the same man). We have traveled all fifty states, Canada, South America and had a vacation home in Mazathen, Mexico for thirty-two years. I enjoy traveling especially cruising.
