About the Book
Flemen was England’s second largest estate, rivaled only by the lands owned by King Edward I. When Flemen’s heir is badly injured, a humble, disfigured healer, Lady Anna, is summoned to the adolescent boy’s aid. A neighboring knight, Sir Jacque Brigod further complicates Flemen’s destiny as he plots to annex Flemen’s lands by witchcraft and intrigue. The holy woman arrives as the castle’s inhabitants discover their bishop’s body hanging from a tree. This is only the first of Anna’s surprises as she encounters the castle’s life of murder, adultery, and siege. Lady Anna fears her own enigmatic past could seriously jeopardize Flemen’s heir. Only the supernatural can make a difference as to who will rule Flemen.
