About the Author

Shirlene Polk is a poet and writer who lives in Port St. Lucie, Florida, with her children Lasondria, Morris, and Dylan. She was born in Statesboro, Georgia, and also lived for fifteen years in New Orleans, Louisiana. She holds a B.A. degree in Business and an A.A. degree in Advertising and Radio & T.V. Broadcasting. She earned a teaching certification, an F.C.C. broadcast license, and a certificate in child care and food hygiene.

Ms. Polk has been published in several poetry books and other publications since 1955. She draws her inspiration and insights from her deep perseverance in life.

Her poetry is a spiritual journey. Writing poetry is a creative way for her to express her ideas and deep feelings for people undergoing challenges or changes in their lives; her poetry can perhaps help you come to terms with your own situation.

Shirlene loves to talk, and she listens to all people and both their problems and good times they want to share with her. Her poetry is written to help heal the reader of his problems caused by the pain in today’s world. Her writing tells you to know that God’s promises are new every day, and that He will never fail you, even if man will!
