Sexual abuse can range from someone exposing themselves to another person, to sexual intercourse. The level of damage sustained to a person depends on that person. "It is better that one suffers instead of many." Those were the very words I spoke to myself over and over again growing up. I was sexually abused as a child from about 5 years old until I was 13. I learned to live with the secret and the pain by withdrawing into myself. As a child I was very shy around people and terrified around men. I was raised with Christian values and at an early age I realized that the Lord was my best friend. I new the Lord was with me and He heard me when I prayed. I would suppress all my feelings until I could be alone with the Lord and then pour out my pain in tears. As the abuse continued and I began to grow, I began to keep who I really was bottled up inside. On the outside I appeared to be normal and have it altogether. Many of you that have been sexual abused have hidden who you really are; so much so, that you do not know who you are yourself. Like many of you I believed that I could never tell anyone what happened to me. There were to many lives that the truth would destroy. Therefore, I told myself that I must keep silent because better that one suffer then many. Being sexually abused is like wearing a backpack on your back with the secret of the past abuse in the lining in the bottom of the backpack.

About the Book
There was a small child who held a shameful secret. This book is about the inner healing of the sexually abused. The statistics continue to increase in the amount of people having been sexually abused as children. There is hope and peace through Christ. Don’t let the lies Satan speaks encourage you to have a pity party. Let the walls fall down and don’t let unforgiving get in your way of living victoriously.
About the Author
Denita Wilcox was born premature, breach, and stillborn. The doctor said to her mother (Ruth), "It doesn’t look like she’s going to make it." She said, "the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away bless it be the name of the Lord." At that moment Denita’s heart started to beat. As her life progressed through tests, trials, and tribulations, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 13. She received the gift of the Holy Spirit around the age of 19. She is a graduate of Jameson School of Ministry and is in her final year of the Jameson School of Theology. Upon completion in the year 2001, she will receive a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Theology. Many tears were shed as the Lord pressed upon her heart to write this book. May you be blessed by the words in which He has given her to share regarding inner healing for the sexually abused.
