I took my five-year-old daughter to see Pinocchio. After the movie and tons of popcorn she said: "Daddy, I love Pinocchio." "Why?" I asked. She said: "Because he learned to be alive and dance without strings." Too many adults are quick to disregard what children have to say. Many label such wisdom as cute or childish non-sense. If we listen closely, the wisdom that comes from such innocence is most profound. Listen. *** I once startled a friend. She exclaimed that I had scared the hell out of her. I said, "Great, now there’s plenty of room for Heaven." *** Think of a Bullfighter. The fierce bull is indeed just that, a lot of bull. It represents, for example, fear. You, as the matador, always have a choice of whether to take the bull head-on and get knocked off your feet, or get out of the way. The Bullfighter may still feel the feelings but he or she can step aside. One can learn to detach from the bull and yet remain engaged. She or he has not ignored or avoided the feelings, but has remained conscious in the moment. For a Bullfighter not to be fully aware could prove to be fatal. So remember, get out of the way! OLE! And by all means, smile.

About the Author
Victor E. Arencibia, (1962- ) an ordained minister, has been writing poetry, insights, and song lyrics for 15 years. In 1991, a song of his was released on a CD that hit number one on the Canadian charts. Presently, he is producing his first rock 'n' roll CD. For more than a decade, Arencibia has been teaching meditation. He holds a black belt in Karate and has merged it with a blend of spirituality that offers students an added dimension. One of Victor's pieces is currently being considered for an upcoming book on Peace stories. He is currently finishing the sequel to Shhh . . . ift Happens presently titled Gift Happens. When not writing, Arencibia is a volunteer minister within the clergy department at a local hospital. A Cuban-American, he studied at The American University, and holds a BA in Pre-Law. He is the father of two children. He lives in New Jersey.
