"Noth’n For My Journey" Long ago, old saints would say
Many years have come and gone
I wouldn’t give anything for one tear
I wouldn’t give anything for one pain
So now that I am middle aged
Automatic Praise Just as a leg lifts quickly
Let it be automatic
Help me appreciate good times
Let it be a reflex, Lord
"I wouldn’t take noth’n for my journey,"
With respect, I would smile and nod
Though I didn’t have full understanding
Each lesson learned, "heaven sent,"
I’ve grown through all my tests and trials
Finally, I know what they meant
That ran down on my face,
Because it taught me to lean on God, and
Never give up in haste
My body, in sickness would feel,
Each showed me the beauty of God’s stripes
Also to know that He’s real
And have learned; and yet learning still,
"I wouldn’t take noth’n for my journey"
If you’ve never said it – you will!
When a doctor taps its knee,
In times of sun or trouble
Let my praises lift to thee
Without hesitation or thought,
Instill praise within my spirit,
With joy, let every battle be fought
Yet when the tough times come,
Keep me ever grateful
Praying let thy will be done
This thankfulness in me,
No matter what situation arise
My praise belongs to thee.

About the Book
This book was conceived through trials, victories, and personal losses. That’s why it was truly a labor of love. I was taught of the Lord; through a sparrow and other events in my life, that "He is faithful that promised." Heb. 10:23 For, " . . . the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, . . . stablish, strengthen, settle you." 1 Peter 5:10. Not that I have already arrived. "But I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Phili. 3:14. May God bless you as He has me through this book.
