Excerpt from Chapter 3 . . . A Magical Journey
As Hannah lay sleeping, she began to dream. In her dream she began to fly! Higher and higher she flew, almost touching the moon and the stars, until finally she came to rest on a fluffy white cloud in the sky!
The cloud felt soft, but also very cold. She pulled her robe tighter and quickly began to search for snowflakes. Just beyond a puff of cloud, to her surprise, she found a glistening kingdom made of ice!
The kingdom shimmered in the light of the moon. She looked closer and saw tiny bits of ice moving along the path to the kingdom. Hannah could see that these tiny bits of ice had faces, most of which looked very unhappy. They had no arms and they moved very slowly because their bodies were made of ice.

As Hannah cautiously entered the glistening kingdom, the icy creatures seemed frightened and hurried to move out of her way. Hannah politely called out to them, "Excuse me, can someone please tell me where I am? "
"Can’t you see, silly? This is an ice-crystal kingdom and I am an ice-crystal who is very busy," said one large ice-crystal in a grumpy voice.
"Ice-crystals? But, where can I find snowflakes?" Hannah asked.
"Snowflakes! " said the ice-crystal, backing away from Hannah. "Don’t tell me you believe in all that nonsense about snowflakes! You’re not another one of those silly dreamers are you? Around here, we think it’s a foolish waste of time to believe and dream at all! If you want to find out about snowflakes, go ask that ice-crystal Shimmer. You’ll probably find Shimmer sitting alone outside the kingdom dreaming, as she always does. Snowflakes! Dreams! Ha! It’s all just utter nonsense!" muttered the ice-crystal as he scurried on his way.

About the Author
Since attaining her B.A. in Music in 1977, Christine has been sharing her gifts and "magic sparkles," encouraging her preschool students and children’s audiences to laugh, sing, wonder, imagine, dream, and believe! Christine is a gifted singer, teacher, music, and imagination children’s performer, writer/creator, lyricist/songwriter composing the songs from the story found on the C.D. audio version of this book. In 1997 she wrote and premiered her first story entitled The Snow Princess to enthusiastic reviews at children’s centers and educational stores and now, just 4 years later, A Snowflake Dream has finally sprouted "sparkling wings to fly!" Christine resides in Buffalo Grove, IL, with her husband David and teenage daughter Rebecca. From the Author . . . My dream has always been to create a seasonal story that celebrates each child’s unique gifts and dreams, beliefs, handicaps, and ethnicity. So it was on one snowy winter’s night that I discovered nature had provided the perfect universal symbol for such a story . . . the unique and magical snowflake! The silent snowflake relays a very clear and simple message. That we are all unique and are blessed with special sparkling gifts and dreams of our own to share. When we stop to think that nearly every invention or creation began with a dream . . . or we recall all of the contributions made by the great dreamers and visionaries of our time . . . it is easy to see why encouraging our children at an early age to imagine, dream, and believe is so important. As a tribute to all the child dreamers of the world, I have chosen to donate a percentage of the proceeds of this book to help 3 very special children’s organizations, whose children’s dreams are showcased in this book. It is my hope that when children read their special words and dreams, they too will be inspired to follow their own dreams and help make a difference in the world . . . because every dream counts! About the illustrator . . . Larflyn’s is a gifted, published artist, copywriter, creative writer, entrepreneur, and inventor who launched his career at 19 as a freelance fashion illustrator. Since then he has been building a solid background in the art world. A dreamer at heart, when Larflyn first read the story, he immediately embraced the story’s message and eagerly welcomed the challenge of illustrating A Snowflake Dream! He now resides in the Chicagoland area with his beautiful wife Tatyana.
