Eleven O'clock was only fifteen minutes away, from the time that Gracie had planned to get on the Internet to chat with Becky, her dearest friend. She had been busy all day preparing for Becky’s fall wedding to Chuck, and had lost all track of time doing so. Gracie could not help but to remember the day she had felt so wonderful when she had picked out her own wedding dress to marry Alan in. With a far away sad look in her eyes, Gracie was startled back into reality by the ringing of the phone. "Oh... now who can that be?" Gracie mumbled under her breath as she reached for the phone. "Hello"..... "Hey girlfriend.... it’s me..... "Becky "..... "Hi girl....... I was just thinking of you!" ......Gracie said hesitantly, trying not to reveal that she was saddened by her own thoughts of her wedding day memories. Gracie's marriage to Alan had been far from the picture he had painted eight years ago. "Hello" "Are you there girl?" A voice rang out on the other end of the phone. "Oh yes Becky... I was just admiring the patterns on the punch bowl for your wedding!" Grace exclaimed, trying to cover up her moments of despair thinking. "Okay... if you say so girlfriend... hey, I'm going on line here in a few... are you coming?" Becky happily said. "Sure... I need a break, maybe I will run into Stormy or um Jason." Gracie said. "10-4 girlfriend.... chat with you in a few!" said Becky, excitedly as she prepared to hang up. "See ya girl" replied Gracie, as she hung up the phone. She felt so left out of things and could not help to admire her friends enthusiasm, for after all... Becky had met her soon to be husband on the internet just the past winter.... and Chuck was a perfect match for Becky. His charm alone, in person, was enough for any woman to wish they we're in Becky's shoes. Grace looked at the chime clock hanging on the wall behind her Grandmother's favorite chair, when she hung the phone up. She was shocked to find that it was nearly eleven o'clock..... and time for her to get on the internet. She could not believe that the few mere words that her and Becky had spoken.... had lasted nearly fifteen minutes. She quickly walked down the hallway to check in on her Grandmother, who was sleeping peacefully and she tipped-toed in to kiss her goodnight on the forehead, being careful not to awaken her. Grandmother Marie was not well at seventy years of age, and Alan had suggested that she could really benefit if he and Grace lived with her. Gracie had the submissive spirit of always lending a hand if someone needed it in any purpose. Turning the lights down low, in their small colonial style kitchen, Gracie took one more glance into the den, where Alan laid, sleeping on the couch. She did not chance on wakening him, as there was not many chances that she was able to be alone. Alan's life had been built around his family continually... and with an overbearing upbringing of his background, and Grace's submissive character, allowed her no choices in Alan's family, let alone with Alan, saving the fact that she was needed for her talents in cooking, nursing and whatever Alan's family needed of her. By the end of the day, she was exhausted with the whole idea in general.... and did not want to awaken him when she would decide to take a little private time to be alone or with her friends on the internet. It was disgracing enough that Gracie did not have even the least of a typical marriage at all, much less a lifestyle without her "rich in taste" meddlesome Mother in Law, constantly dominating Alan's every move, at which further more, Mrs. Green continuously manipulated the entire household. She was a very selfish and disheartening woman to be around and unfortunately, Alan was practically like her if not worst.

About the Author
Frances Campbell Vassi lives in Virginia with her husband Michael and his grandmother Geraldine, and their faithful pets; Roscoe Wolf, Milo Little Wolf, Wendy Kitty, and of course the barn cat, Sweety. Fran has two teenagers that live in Virginia as well, Ronnie and Daniel, that through all the years of watching them, have inspired her to accomplish her own goals in life. She hopes that by doing so, they will follow their own dreams and not let anything keep them from seeing what they both can become. Fran was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia and was raised in a small community called Jordan Mines of Pott’s Creek until the age of seven. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1977, and enrolled at Virginia Western Community College in the summer of 1980. Of all her successes and failures since the yesteryears, her greatest desire was to be a writer. She won a poetry contest with a poem called The Rose and its publication has inspired her to go further with the art of penmanship. Besides just having a skill for poetry, she went further into the market of song writing and singing, where she has completed her own cassette tape and CDs in the music industry, which she left behind for her true love--writing novels. Nestled close to the wilderness where she lives, inspired by nature’s own gifts, and reaching out to the world with the Internet, she began her journey of being an author as she created her first novel, Internet Obsessions: Read My Mind.
