About the Author
Jeffrey M. Aron, M.D. is the chairman of the Nutritional Support Committee and an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco. He has been in the practice of gastroenterology for the last 26 years, and has served as the chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition for 19 years. Dr. Aron is a graduate of UCLA, and earned his medical degree from the University of California at Irvine, where he co-founded the school newspaper, The Impulse. Currently he serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of America, and was a founding member of the Northern California Chapter of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. He has lectured and taught at major national and international conferences, and has contributed to numerous scientific publications, including the book Nutrition and AIDS. Dr. Aron and his wife Harriette reside in San Francisco, and are the parents of a son.
