--valets around, so he instructed Dale to wait inside the entrance while he walked over to the parking lot for his car. He couldn't help noticing the car parked next to his, with a license plate of AR31416. His mind flashed back to a few nights ago, and recognized the plates as the same as those on the car of the men who had been in his motel room. He quickly entered the car and raced up to the entrance. As he opened his door, he motioned to Dale to come out. Jim yelled, "Hurry, get in on my side." As Dale entered the car, Jim pushed her far enough to get behind the wheel. He floored the accelerator as the tires screamed around the curves leading to the highway. As he briefly came to a halt at the stop sign he noticed headlights in his rear view mirror. "For God's sake," said Dale, "What's wrong?" Jim replied, "I'll tell you later," as he raced down the highway. Jim kept his eyes on the rear view mirror and noticed the headlights were gaining on him. Jim was wishing he had one of those high powered cars instead of the economy model rental car he was driving. As Jim approached a red light, a tremendous "crack" occurred, as a bullet smashed through the rear glass, passing between Jim and Dale, as it smacked through the windshield, leaving a gaping hole. Dale began screaming as Jim continued through the red light. Jim thought how lucky they both were , since this early morning held no traffic. At the same time he was wishing he could sight a police car, as he realized they were in deep trouble. He was also wondering how the men in black suits had discovered that he and Dale would be at the Club that evening. Dale screamed, "What the hell is happening?" Jim replied, "We are being shot at, get down in front of the seat." Dale quickly dropped down as Jim was trying to push the car faster. As they rounded a curve on what seemed to be two wheels, Jim reached for his gun. Signs indicated a railroad crossing flashed by as Jim noticed flashing red lights ahead. As he got closer, he became aware that the gates were down. He had no idea of the proximity of the train to the gates, but he decided if they didn't make it, there would be no difference, since they would surely die at the hands of the men in the car following. As Jim smashed through the gates, he noticed the train and the powerful headlight next to the car for an instant as Jim's car went off the road into a ditch. He heard a tremendous crash and screeching sounds as he saw the car that was chasing them being crushed as the train continued to roll the car. The conductor had applied the brakes, but the train kept moving for what Jim thought was an eternity. Jim quickly rocked the car back and forth until it was free, and he continued down the highway. He next thought of Dale as he yelled, "Are you Okay?" There was no answer from Dale as Jim noticed that she was under the dash. Jim pulled into a gas station that was closed for the night as he continued around to the rear of the building. He turned on the dome light as he raced to the door on her side.

About the Book

Confrontation occurs between the men in black suits as the investigation continues. The trail finally leads Mitch and his associates deeply within an Air Force base to discover the truth: an organization whose goal is to rule the world. After much intrigue, action and suspense, the "Pi" conspiracy is revealed.
About the Author
The Author, being one of five children, was born and raised on a farm in rural Pennsylvania during the Great Depression. After serving in the Army in WWII, he pursued a career in electronics and opened his own business. Later, he joined a newly organized company and advanced through the ranks to become Vice President of one of their companies. Over the years, he has written various articles; one on computer programming that appeared in a monthly publication. He also wrote and composed legal forms relating to contracts and was in charge of customer relations and inquiries. While employed as a State Sales Director, he conducted agency meetings and gave motivational speeches. The Author has always been intrigued by the mystery surrounding UFO’s and decided to write The Pi Conspiracy (the book), which was two years in the making. His hobbies consist of oil painting and fishing.
