About the Book

The Middle Ground takes a fresh and original look at contemporary political thought by proposing the creation of Centrism as a distinct new political philosophy -- a philosophy based on reason, balance and moderation. It highlights the fallacies of traditional liberal and conservative thought, then outlines a distinct new Centrist approach to today's major social concerns. Economics, welfare, crime, the environment, defense and many other issues are given a fresh new Centrist perspective.

The Middle Ground then outlines a strategy that could ultimately allow the moderate majority to wrest control of the political process from the extremists on both sides of the political spectrum. The book concludes with a series of essays that consider some key social, ethical and political concepts that could provide moderates with a better foundation for their new philosophy.
