About the Book

Pilot 1940-1945 is the story of an unemployed young man who emerges from an environment of rejection; the result of a marriage that intertwined the emotions of a coquettish mother and a gay stepfather.

His dreams, albeit, hopeless, and without qualifications except for a searing desire, he was to become a pilot in the Army Air Corps.

The emotional roller coaster resulting from this seemingly impossible mission, along with the hi-jinks and beautiful women he meets, are chronicled in this poignant story of how one man's love of flying overcomes the official final statement from the Army Air Corps, which was "You will never fly again for the Army Air Corps."

About the Author

Jerry Joseph was born in New York City and was an aviation enthusiast for as long as he can remember. Graduating from New York's only aviation high school, he found little opportunity for employment during the pre-war years with the knowledge gained therein.

Wandering aimlessly throughout the city looking for work and daydreaming about becoming a hero like the Aces of World War I, he realized his dream was an impossible one until World War II happened.

He's married to Floria, his childhood sweetheart, and they live in Palm Desert, California.

All proceeds from book sales of Pilot 1940-1945 will be donated to the World War II Memorial Fund.
