Jeremiah was now twelve, his glands were stirring him into maleness, and strong emotions flooded his body that both intrigued and frightened him. He was exploding inside, moving into a world he knew not of. He had no frame of reference to mark his passage. On this particular day, the desert called him. It was early spring, and the earth was stirring with birthing life, late winter rains had brought forth tiny flowers whose color dotted the green of grass with vivid gold and white. The cacti were swelling with buds of ebullient hue. Again the desert was being initiated into spring. The boy sat silent upon a rock beside an arroyo still wet with the passing of the waters from a mountain shower. Clouds floated like white chiffon above his head. A faint breeze stirred his hair; it was gentle upon his cheek. He was deep into a reverie of appreciation for the beauty of this place. A strange energy crept along his spine, across his shoulders and his heart began to accelerate. He hadn't experienced this feeling before. He closed his eyes to get in touch with its source, breathing it into his body to feel and analyze. He was startled from his withdrawal, a swirling sound came upon him, something brushed the top of his head and he leaped forward at the raucous cry of a falcon piercing his ears. His eyes took in the bird as it arose swiftly above his head and circled, screeching a message Jeremiah could not comprehend. He sat very still, his breathing rapid, his attention on the spiraling falcon high above him. Suddenly it dived straight down, losing speed as it came toward him. Very gently it squatted upon the mass of black curls. Jeremiah was flooded with energy and an emotion so powerful he could scarcely breathe. He dared not move lest he frighten the bird. Though it perched lightly the startled boy felt the sharp talons on his scalp. A voice ricocheted in his head and seemed to bounce off the distant mountains and return. "Jeremiah, Jeremiah", it shouted, "You are receiving an initiation from the Brotherhood of Light, and you are being awakened into your mission for which you came to the Earth plane to fulfill. We are giving you the initiation of Horus, the falcon God who holds the ancient wisdom of the Godhead. You chose to be Word Bearer unto your brothers and sisters. Much training lies ahead for you, but I am always with you and will guide you. I am Jeremiah, and you are a facet of me upon the Earth. Read of me in the ancient scriptures but know my word has been adulterated, you will discern them in time and you shall bring the truth of God's Word to the world, call upon me and I shall support you as the plans of your mission unfold. Have courage, Jeremiah, for that which lies before you, for you are deeply loved by the Brotherhood, and by God, I shall come to you again when the time is appropriate." The falcon lifted from his head, and as the astounded boy looked, it dissipated into the sky. Jeremiah sat mute, stunned beyond thought or speech. He could only breathe deeply, the energy vibrating through his body was so intense he felt he was going to explode. He sat, unable to move, as his body began to tremble, his breathing became erratic, and he felt humble before a presence he knew he had encountered before but could not remember when or where. He sat for hours, time slipping silently into endless space, allowing the absorption of words which fired his brain into a tenuous memory of happenings long past beyond his comprehension in this moment. He did not know the meaning of the events of this day, but it was awesome, overpowering his senses but anchoring in his gut as a truth that could change his life. How could he share this with his mother? Neither she nor his father could begin to understand such a happening. He couldn't and he was a witness to the initiation, whatever that meant, he felt the powerful energy, the words still echoing. They were imprinted in his mind so vividly he would never forget them. He sat there, as his body slowly calmed itself before he walked away from the desert. He opened the door to his home, and destiny settled like a dark shroud upon his shoulders. His mother stood in the middle of the living room, a telegram in her hand, her face was ashen. She could not speak, she handed it to him to read. Jeremiah reached for it as if in a slowed down moving picture frame, his eyes piercing the words like an arrow, wanting to destroy their impact for he knew their content before he read them: "Manuel Sanchez severely hurt in train wreck stop at Sisters of Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City stop. Signed Father Matthew"

About the Book
Jeremiah was born of a Caucasian mother and Mexican father in Phoenix. His two older sisters declared he was a nuisance but was loved dearly by his parents and was at ease with his school classmates. He was fascinated by the desert and spent much time there. At age twelve he had an experience which changed his life. While sitting quietly under a saguaro a falcon landed on his head and sat there. A voice spoke clearly to him saying, "Jeremiah, you are receiving an initiation from the Brotherhood of Light. You are being awakened unto your mission for which you came to earth. It is the Initiation of Horace, the Falcon God, who holds the ancient wisdom of the Godhead. You are a messenger unto your world. Much training lies ahead for you. I am Jeremiah and you are a facet of me. I will come again to you as needed." Deeply stirred by the event he dashed home to discover his father had been killed in a train accident. Following graduation from Arizona State University, his guide, Jeremiah, sent him to Mexico. He was led to develop a center for indigenous people at Puerto Vallarta. His success was noted by government officials and was asked to speak throughout the country on the needs of the poor. He eventually returned to Phoenix and Jeremiah appeared to him again requesting he go to Egypt to the Monastery of San Simeon. He relived the life of the ancient Prophet who had died there. He was to be a prophet to the people of his time and was given instructions to go to Sedona, Arizona. He would assist in creating one of the greatest healing centers in the world. He discovered his divine compliment, Destiny, who helped him in this project. The results of his activity in this project took many startling turns and twists involving the President of the United States, the United Nations and the devious activities of politicians and government officials which are disclosed in the book.
About the Author
Naomi Niles was reared in the Panhandle of Oklahoma with her parents, five brothers and two sisters. By age ten she was writing and reading her stories to her siblings. She began her college career as a journalist but later acquired a graduate degree in psychology and counseling. She has continued her career as a marriage and family relations counselor for many years. She also has continued her creative writing including short stories, articles, poetry and novels. He first published book, Messiah and the Second Coming, was co-authored, based on Coptic records discovered in Egypt. She also has published a novel, Turn the Wind Around, which is a beautiful story of redemptive love. Jeremiah, Prophet of God was inspired by an energy who came into her consciousness saying he was Jeremiah and told her to read from her Bible the Book of Jeremiah. There she would discover she had been Jeremiah’s scribe, Baruch. Jeremiah, Prophet of God is a story of the reincarnation of the Prophet who returned as a Mexican American and depicts today’s problems and solutions in our country, spiritually and politically. His message today is as powerful as the Jeremiah of Israel centuries ago for our problems equal that of ancient Israel. Naomi and her husband presently reside in Sedona, Arizona.
