"The other environmental problems on planet Terra may not
necessarily affect the cosmos. Therefore, we are not permitted to interfere
unless specifically asked to do so by the inhabitants of that planet. We must
leave them to make their own choices. If necessary, they must learn by their
own mistakes and suffer the consequences of their choices. It is part of their
development to go through this phase, to reap the results of their
decisions."
"So where do I come into this?" Zakeera queried.
"You can offer suggestions," the White-Star replied,
"by working as an ambassador on the planet. You may offer alternatives to
their present sources of energy. This would help cleanse their environment and
avoid the abyss that they are heading towards. But it will be their decision
whether to accept these alternatives or not. The ultimate decision has to be
theirs."
"Who have you chosen for me to overshadow this time?"
The White-Star members were silent. They put up a mental barrier
to shield their thoughts from Commander Zakeera. There was obviously more to
this mission than the White-Star had originally implied.
The Blue-Star sensed what was coming. It would be the ultimate
sacrifice that he could offer, but he repeated his question, hoping to dispel
his fears.
The White-Star spokesperson hesitated. When he finally replied, he
did so very slowly, solemnly.
"Well, there is a slight problem. We have carried out a
careful study of all the likely candidates who would be best suited to aid our
cause. One stands out in particular above the rest."
"For what reason?" Zakeera asked.
"Because he has strong opinions on environmental issues. He
has already voiced his fears and ideas to his colleagues, and also to the
general public through the media."
The White-Star fell silent once more. Commander Zakeera was
impatient to hear what they were proposing. He knew there was a problem
associated with the choice of this person.
"And?"
"And...we have checked the Akashic Chronicle, the record of
every manifestation within the universe ¾ past, present and future. It would
appear that our nominee is due to pass into spirit on the 8th of September of this
year, terrestrial time."
The Blue-Star closed his eyes. This was his worst fear and he
realised the implications of accepting the mission. He would avoid it if he
could.
"By what method is he passing into spirit, and why is there
no-one other than this individual?"
"We have foreseen that he will be involved in a car accident
that will claim his life," the White-Star explained.
"The reason why this candidate is unique is because he is a
Senator. He has the opportunity to be nominated for the Presidency of the
United States, and he is the only nominee who has such strong views on
environmental issues. It is such a person as this who would have the ultimate
authority and position to be able to sway the decisions of the masses. But for
him to reach that position, he must first present his case to the people, and
allow them the freedom to either vote him into office or not."
The Blue-Star fell silent once more. He bowed his head in thought,
contemplating the likely outcome of the plan, and the consequences for him
should he agree to do it.
"Of course, it is your choice whether you accept this mission
or not," the White-Star assured him. "If you do accept the challenge,
you do realise what is expected of you?"
Zakeera nodded. He knew exactly what it would entail.
"I'd be required to become a body-tenant. It would mean
vacating this present body permanently and taking over the form of the mortal
who is due to die on September eight."
