...... ‘I’ve got a feeling they’re gonna make their move tonight Joe.’ Roberto stated, the edginess in his voice noticeable, as well as his eagerness to take action.
But Guiseppe wasn’t listening. He could still feel the Gypsy woman’s touch on his forehead, like a disease…her dark, witchlike eyes that’d made his blood run cold. ‘Your mind is with me’ – Five short words, but uttered with poison. Dirty rats! That’s all they were. Well he wasn’t about to let them get into his head.
But her touch…
‘Joe, are you listening to me?’
He looked blankly up at his first ‘Captain’ ; Roberto, and then to Georgio, his ‘Consigliere’, in bewilderment. ‘What did you say?’
Roberto said nothing as a waiter appeared with a bottle of red wine and proceeded to take their orders. But the moment he was gone, Roberto was sure to repeat his statement.
‘I said I’ve got a feeling they’re gonna make their move tonight.’
Guiseppe scowled...
‘Benetto Tamburo's a foolish boy…’piccioti!’ I will do to him as I did to Carlo’s nephew, all those years ago!’ he could still picture the way Francesco Messina had screamed, made helpless by the ropes that had bound him as he watched them kill his young wife, before having his kneecaps blown away. Guiseppe had left him to die slowly in a pool of his own blood. ‘He’ll rue the day he ever crossed me…and that scavenger, Fontana. I will personally show him pain like…’ he stopped as his gaze fell onto a figure across the restaurant. Francesco Messina?
He blinked back, but still, Francesco stood where he was…watching him with cold, dead eyes. Upon his face he wore an evil, knowing sneer.
Georgio, concerned by his horrified expression, followed his gaze then turned back in confusion. ‘What’s up Joe?’
Guiseppe stared at Georgio in disbelief. Surely he’d seen the blood smeared figure across the room, it couldn’t be missed.
‘Are you blind? I’m…’ his sentence died as he looked again across the room. Francesco was no longer there; it was as though he never had been.
‘You okay boss?’ Roberto pried as Guiseppe rubbed at his forehead.
‘I’m fine!’ he snapped back, before demanding that he pour him a drink. The last thing he needed was for his men to start thinking he was going crazy. He must have been mistaken; maybe it was time he bought some new eyeglasses.
He barely acknowledged the filled glass Roberto passed him of red wine, but the moment he took his first mouthful, he spat it back out, whilst gagging violently. The texture, the taste – blood............
........He didn’t see or hear Georgio as panic then broke out all around him. Like a madman, he gunned down one other diner as he fled, only, in Guiseppe’s mind, the man wasn’t just a stranger, it was another past memory he’d sent to the grave.

About the Book
This is a story about a young Sicilian, who is grandson to the "Capo-dei-capi" (head of head's) to all the Sicilian crime bosses. Benetto Castellrosa Tamburo is his name, and after an upbringing by his grandfather in Sicily, he returns to America in order to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. He's a genius and also a tyrant; making his grandfather proud of him, but then he meets a young Romany Gypsy girl by the name of Mariannina Malanga in the strangest of ways.
It is from that point that Benetto embarks on a series of life changing events. Not only does this girl start bringing him from the bitter, evil shell he'd encased himself in; she also brings to light nothing but trouble and adversity. He comes to loggerheads with his grandfather in the worst possible way and aside of this, it also puts Benetto's family to war with another Sicilian mafia family that dominates New York, after sparking a feud that has been going on for long before Benetto was even born.
However, unlike any normal, predictable mafia story, this one has a more spiritual side. It's amazing how powerful a Gypsy curse can be when it comes to fighting this war between the families, and as cynical as Benetto is, he is forced to see past his own arrogance; to a world of magic he just cannot explain without admitting to himself that unseen powers do exist beyond even his control.

About the Author
Claire Fenlon-Booth is currently a mother of three who was born and lives in Wrexham, North Wales. Although her passion for writing started at a very early age, she began writing “In Vengeance Will Kill” not long after leaving school in 1993 but re-edited it completely in 2000 and after a little tweaking, completed in 2004. Aside of writing various short stories and also a detective/barrister series, which she will be looking to publish soon; she also embarked on a law degree in 2005; having first done a part foundation degree in Forensic science.
“In Vengeance Will Kill” is the only work she has written that is based in America, but through her own research and work through the English Legal and Criminal Justice System, she has kept further works to the United Kingdom. Working with the police, various members of the judiciary, legal professionals and offenders, she has been able to gain a more realistic insight into the workings of the system in order to produce high quality fiction works.
Her imagination has always been her hobby and her life and personal background speaks for itself with regards to her credentials as a writer. She doesn’t write because she’s been taught to write…she writes because the passion is already there and her research simply puts facts to the ideas she has.
