About the Author

Native Memphian and owner of Poetic Gardens Landscaping, Radford P. Savage understands that when God gets your full attention, you are no longer in a position to tell Him what you will or will not do. Gifted with the artistic abilities of drawing and writing poetry since the tender age of 8 years old, Radford describes his ability to write as a gift that releases him from the bondages and cares of this world. Using his natural talent to advance God’s kingdom, Radford used his poetry to overcome a tough upbringing from an abusive uncle. Also gifted as a poet, Radford’s uncle was unable to utilize his gift and often despised his nephew’s talents and ability to share his writings with other people as a sign of comfort and encouragement. Despite these harsh circumstances, Radford received encouragement from those closest to him, his mother Annie Gertrude Pickens, his brother Robert Pickens and his sister Vivian Henderson to pursue his passion of drawing and writing. As a former church usher, choir member and deacon, Radford decided to finally let God have His way after almost 30 years of admittedly dodging his calling into the ministry and has served as an anointed minister for the past 21 years. Deeming himself unworthy of his calling, Radford now has a heart for God’s people and effectively using his gift of expression to minister to the body of Christ. In recent years, his self-published work “The Hand” was featured a collaborative collection of works entitled America at the Millennium: The Best Poems of the Century on the website Poetry.com. Radford P. Savage has been married to his lovely wife Alma Ree for 16 years, is the father of 4 children and a grandfather of 8. He is an associate pastor of Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Cordova, TN.
